Leaving Durban we travel inland to this World Heritage Site. We transfer to 4×4 vehicles for the ascent up the famous Sani Pass to the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. Visit a Basotho village & the “Highest Pub in Africa”. Day 2 is enjoyed in the mountains, activities include either hiking in majestic scenery to look at San (Bushmen) Rock Art or horse riding in the foothills of the ‘Dragon’ Mountains.

Leaving Durban we travel north into the heart of Zululand to visit the Battlefields of Isandlwana, where the British suffered humiliating losses at the hands of the Zulu Impi & Rorkes Drift, where 11 Victoria Crosses were awarded for bravery and valour. Day 2: Visit Ondini, the site of King Cetshwayo’s royal uMuzi & the Battle of Ulundi, site of the last major battle in the Anglo-Zulu War. Visit the Spirit of the eMakhosini – a monument to the early Zulu kings buried in the Valley, before returning to Durban.
